She was a community organizer in the island of Puerto Rico and in 1994 upon arrival to Winston-Salem worked as a volunteer tutor for Hispanic children in our school system, opened a childrens Kids Cafe from the Food Bank and continued to create the first Hispanic Center of Winston-Salem. Participated in a vast amount of non-profit and government agencies in the state of North Carolina such as:
